A Night at The Opera

As one performance closes and another opens I was able to attend an anticipated Opera that for the first time was showing at the beautiful Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto. The Elixir of Love! (L’elisir d’amore)

It is always an experience at The Four Seasons Centre. To begin, the parking is underground and the elevator brings you up right to the doors. I was greeted as I walked out of the elevator and directed to the ticket scanning area with very polite welcoming and helpful staff. I was asked if I wanted to pre-order drinks and snacks before the show to avoid line-ups during the intermission and of course I said absolutely!

I walked into my designated entrance and was directed to my seat.

Once my husband and I were settled that beautiful sound of the orchestra tuning their instruments began and as always I had a big smile on my face. Ahhhh 🙂

The house lights went out and only those pretty lights that surround the balconies were lit and Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love was ready to start.

This comical love story of Nemorino and Adina was well portrayed by Andrew Haji as Nemorino and Simone Osborne as Adina. Their beautiful voices complemented each other and made beautiful music.

Andrew Shore as Dulcamara, Gordon Bintner as Belcore and Lauren Eberwein as Giannetta did a great job in this Opera.

I will not give away all the details, that way you can enjoy it wherever and whenever you watch it and see how pleasant this Opera is.

Overall my experience was great and I look forward to watching Rigoletto and Anna Bolena.
